Techniques in Glazing

Glazing can make it or break it, so let's explore the many possibilites together! In this class, you will be learning the basics and advanced glazing techniques, invovling using three glazes. You will learn the concept of favorable layering, what makes a good glaze combination, and what glazes do not layer well together. Other application techniques will be shown in class, such as splattering, brushing, half dipping, underglazes, and pouring glazes. 

Since this is a glazing only class, you will be required to bring your own bisque items, up to 9 pieces. Test tiles will be provided to be used throughout the class. A courtesy bisquing will occur on June 8th. Note keeping is crucial, so bring a notepad to keep record of what we will do.

Note: We fire to cone 6 oxidation, so if you bring your own clay, ensure it is cone 6 clay!
