Sgraffito Workshop
Sgraffito is a technique that involves painting a contrasting color of slip/underglaze/engobe onto the surface of a clay piece and then carving or scratching away to create a unique design. In this workshop, Carrie will share her expertise on how to successfully create a piece and then design and carve sgraffito illustrations to create your own unique artwork. Students will learn how to create an appropriate design and transfer it to a piece of pottery. Each student will receive 2 premade forms to practice with during the session. The pieces will be completed, fired, and ready to pickup in about 6 weeks after the workshop!
Participants must be at least 18 years old, and prior experience making pottery is expected.
