About the event
Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people, aiming to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in our communities. Empty Bowls supports food-related charitable organizations around the world, and has raised millions of dollars to help end hunger.
We are collaborating with Meredith College's Hunger Week movement, we will need potters who are willing to throw gorgeous bowls to donate to such movement! This is an open invitation to Ceramica's Studio members to come throw and have a good old time making pottery together. We will throw bowls, and try to get them to trimming stage before the end of the day. We will provide recycled clay, but you're more than welcome to use your own clay to make bowls from.
Come sometime between 2 to 5PM to make bowls together. Clay will be provided in a labled container, and folks are encouraged to help with pugging, trimming, and also cleaning up afterwards. We will send an email to those interested to come at a later time to glaze those bowls. You can provide a bussiness card for your donation to be recognized at the time your bowl is being donated.
