*Explore the art of pottery through our 6-week beginners' handbuilding class! This hands-on experience will introduce you to the basics of building with slabs and coils, as well as making surfaces and attachments. Learn essential techniques as you create your own functional and decorative pieces. Our skilled instructors will guide you through each step, making this class perfect for those new to hand built pottery. Unleash your creativity in a supportive and enjoyable environment, and leave with handmade pottery that reflects your unique style.
Week 1. Pinch pots and hollow form. Discuss test pieces for glazing and simple forms as starting points for more complex work.
Week 2. Hump and slump molds. Slab roller intro with discussion about slab thickness, use of textures, mold materials/types, and coil handles.
Week 3. Cylinder forms for mugs, vases, votives. Discuss drying time, joining and adding, and how…
