About the event

This workshop will give you the basic steps to take a glaze recipe and measure,  create, and test a glaze.    We will work with a cone 6 basic glossy white recipe that is perfect for coloring with mason stains.   We will learn the process of measuring materials, combining, slaking, mixing, and maintaining a glaze.  We will also discuss some of the basic facets of glaze chemistry.

This workshop is suitable for beginners who have experience with pottery, and want some hands-on guided experience making their first glaze.  Materials for 1 pint of white liner glaze will be provided.  Special recipes can be accommodated, but you'll need to purchase your own materials and coordinate with the instructor in advance.

Participants must be 18 year old or older.

Participants must bring an N95 mask and a scale that can measure in grams.
