Our intermediate pottery wheel class builds upon fundamental throwing techniques and introduces advanced methods to enhance students' pottery skills. Participants refine their wheel-throwing proficiency by focusing on centering, pulling, and shaping larger and more complex forms. Emphasis is placed on developing consistency in wall thickness, mastering various trimming techniques, and exploring decorative elements such as handles, spouts, and surface textures. Additionally, students delve into glazing methods, including layering, brushing, and dipping, to create unique finishes that complement their forms. Through hands-on practice, individualized instruction, and creative exploration, participants gain the confidence and expertise to create more intricate and refined pottery pieces.
